Teaching Staff for Special Tasks | Director Typography Workshop

The typography workshop has developed from a formerly pure lead typesetting workshop into a kind of typography studio. In light of the constantly changing technological context, events take place here that are no longer oriented to media, but to contents.

In the courses offered and projects for the various programs, the history, classification, and anatomy of type are taught in the context of experimental language usage and the onomatopoeic timbre of language. An insight into the history of art and design allows us to recognize contexts and connections in type design.

In other events, the focus is on thematic complexes such as type design and corporate design, that is, vector-based works and generative design, as well as virtual typography. The basis is formed by the programs of the Adobe and Affinity palette, and furthermore FontLAB as a font design program.
