Andreas Niegl is a sci­en­ti­fic as­­s­is­tant in the department of Art and Economies. His academic background is in cultural studies and media arts. In his research, he is primarily concerned with questions of the valorisation and social function of artistic practice, with a focus on socialist and (post-)Marxist conceptions of art as a transformative social force. In addition to his research activities, he is active as a performance and media artist.
