„Alles Glück dieser Erde“

In „Alles Glück dieser Erde“, Romina Abate asks how balance is established and what it means to relate to other bodies. Together with Astrid Küllmar of Moved by Horses and animal co-coach Elvis, she approaches horseback riding as a practice capable of triggering inner and outer movement, emotional arousal and physical relaxation. The photographs, drawings, and objects, presented in the form of a course, bear witness to the artist's encounter with living and artificial horses, their environment, and not least herself. In dialogue with a rocking horse and various props from the horse stable, she investigates how riding, its media representation, and linguistically linked metaphors are related to power and control, trust, closeness, and sexism and racism. In doing so, she links instructions from books on horses and learning to ride with content and concepts dedicated to seafaring, the ocean, and the sexual behavior of sea creatures.
