Mimosa Echard and Aodhan Madden offer studio visits for students of the Kunsthochschule Kassel on Friday, July 7.
On Thursday, July 6 from 7-8 p.m., artist Mimosa Echard will perform Tears (Dynamic Storage) at the Fridericianum, along with music by Aodhan Madden.
Mimosa Echard was born in 1986 in Alés (France) and currently lives and works in Paris. Her practice encompasses a wide multimedia spectrum of artistic processes in which she creates hybrid systems with collections of natural as well as artificial materials. In the processes, she allows these elements to enter into a dialogue, placing the living and non-living, the human and non-human, in hedonistic relationship with one another. The resulting creations question the dichotomy of nature and culture and explore those intermediate stages that oscillate between their own destruction and the development of a new stage of evolution. Her performances, as well as video installations, are co-created by the music of Aodhan Madden.
As part of a cooperation between the Fridericianum and the Kunsthochschule Kassel, artists of the event series FF - Live im Fridericianum offer studio visits for students of the KhK. For the last studio visit of this semester, Mimosa Echard and Aodhan Madden will come to the Kunsthochschule. KhK students will have the opportunity to reflect on their own art with Mimosa Echard and Aodhan Madden in individual timeslots.
