In the 15th edition of Profis Plaudern Praxis as part of the 40th Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival, it's all about being in the right place with the right film: placement, distribution and marketing for film and media productions. These are the topics this time - especially also the importance of film markets.
The event wants to open access to the mystery of film markets and film festivals and to classify their potentials. Speakers from various fields will give their own assessments of what happens at a film market, how it works, for whom and when participation is worthwhile, and what forms of participation are possible.
Four short presentations will open up different perspectives on film markets and film festivals. In a moderated panel discussion followed by individual talks on site at the Medienprojektzentrum Offener Kanal in Kassel or optionally via Zoom, individual questions for own projects will be addressed.
The lectures and individual discussions are primarily aimed at students from the network of the Hessian Film and Media Academy (hFMA) and the participants of the 14th Hessian University Film Day. However, they are also open to others interested in the topic. The language of the event is German, but individual discussions can also be held in English.
