What's my business? Portfolio workshop

Artists and designers are constantly faced with the challenge of communicating their own work in a portfolio and expressing themselves about their work. Of course, there is no one-size-fits-all recipe for designing and creating a portfolio. Each portfolio should reflect the individual artistic approach, be appropriate to the respective call for entries and also be budget-friendly.

The workshop will teach various models and methods for presenting one's own artistic practice in a precise and appropriate manner. We will look at the conditions under which portfolios are viewed and what needs to be taken into account. We will then review the participants' portfolios and provide feedback. The workshop is based on the individual working practice of the participants and will maintain a balance between practical exercises and concrete information about jury modalities. The aim is to develop different building blocks for communicating one's own work.

It is essential to have the following documents ready:

  • existing portfolio (or concept portfolio)
  • any existing short texts
  • Curriculum vitae.
