The media artist has received numerous awards for his work. In 2019, a large retrospective at the ZKM provided insight into his broad spectrum of work. The "respektive Peter Weibel" presented him on the basis of around 400 works as an action, video, sound and photo artist, but also as a theorist and scientist.
